Thunder and Lightning on Day 2

10:34 AM: I gotta run now. But be sure to join me for a recap of this busy Day 2 at 6:30 PM at www.blogtalkradio.com/hdsports! Enjoy the game!

10:30 AM: Well, China's keeping it close 16-16 tie! And this crowd is shaking the entire building!!

10:22 AM: Hey, Chris Bosh is on the court! Weird to see him in a jersey with 'USA' on the front and here, he's CB12.

10:17 AM: YAO MING FROM DOWNTOWN!!!!! He nails it! What a moment!!

10:16 AM: Alrighty! Time to start! Listen to the crowd!

10:02 AM:Almost time for USA vs. China basketball game!! Here comes Yao and his crew! Presidents of both nations are on hand. Are these guys basketball players or diplomats??

9:49 AM: China won 4 more gold medals through the night and now has 6!! Surprising, Koreans have 3 golds already and the Americans have stalled after last night's mad haul in swimming.

9:40 AM: I slept late last night and so the start is late this morning. But I'm getting right to the events. Just watched the Men's 4x100 M Free Relay. Brent Hayden swam a personal best to put Canada in the lead in the first 100 M but it's scary to think Americans swam a world record without Michael Phelps!! Frightening!!
___________(Sleep)___________

12:15 AM: It's quarter past midnight. The exciting stuff is taking a break for now. I'm crashing. See you tomorrow morning!!

11:37 PM: What a great anchor from Dara Torres but the US falls short in the 4 by 100 Freestyle Relay. The Dutch dutches the gold medal...don't you think they should totally wear orange swimsuits?? Make 'em stand out!

11:22 PM: The Chinese are ridiculously amazing on the vault in gymnastics!!!!!

11:10 PM: Oh boy, is that fat I see on Brenton Rickard's body?? And he finishes second? Not too shabby...

11:01 PM: NBC's broadcasting men's gymnastics??!! Isn't this 16 hours ago?? You've got to be kidding me!

10:55 PM: Do I see a female Michael Phelps in the making?? Stephanie Race splinters the world record into a million pieces, what a race! Ron MacLean tells the nation that the Chinese invented paper.

10:48 PM: Wow! 14 year old Li XuanXu from China is competiting in the Women's 400 M IM Final! I'm 15 and feeling underachieved...

10:40 PM: Michael Phelps tears up on the podium...and what is wrong with the national anthem?? The intro was freakin long and it got cut! Gasp!!! That's not good with the President here!!! Better check the tapes, don't want to lose "face"! *Wink*

10:29 PM: Medal for the hosts!!! Zhang Lin wins SILVER in the Men's 400 M Free...what a race from Taehwan Park!!! And what the heck has gone wrong with Grant Hackett??

10:09 PM: HE'S DONE IT!!! FIRST GOLD FOR MICHAEL PHELPS! Two full seconds ahead of silver medallist Lazlo Cseh. A full body length ahead of world record. Move over Dwight Howard, we have a new Superman!!!!! Standing O from George Bush (both of them!).

9:59 PM: Here comes the IM swimmers!!! Phelps! Lochte! Cseh! Johns! This is exciting! The President is there! Ther former Prez is there! This is like the State of the Union!

8:59 PM: Yesterday, President George W. Bush was caught up in the sweltering heat of Beijing, visiting the US Beach Volleyball squads, playing some volleyball with world tops Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh. He then watched some softball practice! He can't win the War in Iraq but he sure can slap some bikini ass! The volleyball ladies are playing the Japanese in 1 minute!

8:38 PM: What a true inspiration to everyone out there! Canada is always proud of you, Kyle!

8:30 PM: Kyle Shewfelt talks about the Olympic energy. "I was sooo ready...it's the Olympic energy." Kyle says, "I wanted to be strong...". He talks about his blog which is so amazing: kyleshewfelt.blogspot.com! Kyle, I love writing too!!

7:41 PM: New day in the Chinese capital! Tiananmen Square looks oooo so good! Let's get to the events!! I can't wait until Michael Phelps leaps into the pool for his first gold medal! I still have yet to watch a medal ceremony (boring to some, but fun to me!!) in Beijing. And can you believe CBC Bold is still showing equestrian?? Heard that half the spectators left after an hour yesterday at the equestrian event...I don't blame 'em!
