The Final Countdown

In a a little more than 12 hours, the world's most spectacular sporting event will explode into action with the Opening Ceremonies of the Games of the XXIX Olympiad.

The Chinese have waited 7 long years for this and they've done everything they can to make sure it doesn't lose "face". And sure enough, as far as the public knows, the Opening Ceremony could shape up to be a visual and technical miracle.

The athletes have taken their place in the beautiful Olympic Village. The volunteers are dressed uniformly and ready to help anytime. The security task force is on high alert for any unwanted activity. Beijing is virtually in lockdown mode.

National Stadium-Bird's Nest- will be central to the controversial festivities and in just over 12 hours, it will be filled to the brim with 91 000 spectators, including prolific dignitaries-Bush, Sarkozy...-and average Joes alike.

The anticipation has built to an unprecedented level and the Beijing organizers don't want to disappoint.

Tonight at 8 PM-join me as I give you a 45 minute preview on the sports aspect of the Olympic Games. The web link to the internet radio show is: www.blogtalkradio.com/hdsports.

The world is waiting. What will Beijing have in store for them?

The final countdown begins now!
